COVID-19 Precautions

For Behind-the-Wheel Instruction


THE FOLLOWING PRECAUTIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED FOR THE BEHIND THE WHEEL INSTRUCTION:Any participant not following the precautions outlined will not be permitted to drive.Participants should remain in your personal vehicle when arriving for your drive. Please remain in your vehicle until an instructor motions for you to come over and enter the drivers ed car.
Before getting in the car for the behind-the-wheel instruction, participants will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms.
1. We will take your temperature with a no-touch infrared thermometer.
2. We will ask if you have any symptoms such as fever, sneezing or coughing.
Before/after every drive, the Instructor will use disinfectant wipes on:
All door handles.
All driver and dashboard controls (e.g., switches, dials, buttons).
Keys.
Steering wheel – rim and adjustment levers.
Gear shift lever.
Parking brake lever/button.
Front and rear safety belts, including latching mechanisms.
Center console.
Seats and seat controls.
Head restraints.
Mirror controls.
Any other surfaces likely to be touched by instructors or students.
Please use hand sanitizer (provided for you) on your hands before each session begins, and after each session ends.
If advised by the Australian Government Department of Health please bring a face mask that covers your nose and mouth and wear it at all times.
If it makes you more comfortable to wear gloves, please bring those with you, they will not be provided.
